Child Education on Parental Cancer

Authors:

Brooklyn Wilson, Keeley Wilson, Sophie Wood

We have created a children's storybook as our teaching tool for our chosen population. According to Strouse and Ganea (2020), storybooks with illustrations can be successful in educating children about science by incorporating words and illustrations to depict concepts. By producing a tool that parents can use to educate
and inform their preschool-age children using child-friendly language, children can better understand why they may be noticing changes in their family routine or dynamic.

Alyssa Villanueva:

I think a storybook that explains parental cancer in a way that a child would understand is crucial and very much needed. Also, I was hoping to see the storybook but scanning the QR code doesn’t seem to work ☹
